Astrological signs and horoscopes are like a cult. Devoted followers tattoo limbs with their significant sign. Leaving the house requires reading their luck or misfortune for the day in the newspaper or on an app on their phone. Some concede only dating their compatible astrological sign. Pins on Pinterest consist of best hairstyles suited for your zodiac sign, a diagnosis of your personality in correspondence to your sign, and the sign your best friend should have. If you’re a Capricorn, you’re more outgoing than a Sagittarius; A Taurus will have ongoing conflictions if they date a Gemini.
NASA came out in September saying there was an additional zodiac sign due to a miscalculation from the Babylonians. There was a huge stir about a 13th zodiac sign called Ophiuchus. Well, folks, it turns out that was all just one hilarious joke. You still have the same zodiac sign that you had last year, and the years before that. Ophiuchus is a constellation, not an astrological sign.
A zodiac consists of 12 signs in a horoscope. According to earthsky.org, “The signs are derived from the constellations that mark out the path on which the sun appears to travel over the course of a year. In principle, dates in a horoscope should correspond to when the sun passes through each constellation.”
The zodiac is the beltway of stars along the sphere where the sun, moon, and planets travel continuously. The band of the zodiac extends approximately 8o north and south of the ecliptic, spanning a total of 16o in width.
So, if you caught the rumor going around that your astrological sign has changed, you can remain at ease. The Ophiuchus is merely a constellation and will not effect that your hair style is wrong, or the mistake you made when you were 18 and tattooed Leo on your back.
